Troop Meetings

Troop meetings for Scouts are held weekly year round on Monday evenings from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church except for one Monday evening each month that is designated for a meeting of the Troop Committee (adult leaders of the Troop).

About the Troop

Troop 264 is a part of the Heart of America Council of the Boy Scouts of America.  Troop 264 was chartered at the Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church over 50 years ago.  During the past 50 plus years, over 250 Scouts in the Troop have achieved the highest rank in scouting, Eagle Scout.  The Troop actively participates in all aspects of the Boy Scouts of America program, annually earning the National Quality Unit Award.  These programs and activities include use of the “patrol method” of dividing the Scouts into separate patrols of 6 to 10 members who elect a Patrol Leader.  The Scouts also elect a Senior Patrol Leader to lead the entire Troop.  The Patrol Leaders and the Senior Patrol Leader (and his assistants) comprise the Patrol Leaders Council.  The Patrol Leaders Council meets frequently outside of regular Troop meetings and also conducts an annual program planning conference to develop the Troop’s annual calendar of programs and activities. Troop 264 is a Scout-led organization supported by active adult Scouters.

The Troop currently consists of approximately 65 Scouts, supported by 50 active Troop Committee members (adult leaders).
