The Bible teaches that each follower of Christ is bestowed with spiritual gifts, and that we honor God when we share those gifts with others. Congregational Care

Prayer Team – Do you have the heart to be a prayer warrior? Prayer requests provided by email. Contact Pastor Stephanie Moore.

Upper Room Delivery – If your time is limited, this one’s for you. Deliver devotions to the homebound every other month. Contact Pastor Stephanie Moore.

Special Delivery Coordinator - Organized adult needed to coordinate delivery of meals to new parents. Commitment varies, no prep. Contact Staci Allen.

Student Ministries (7-12 Grade)

RAOK (Random Acts of Kindness) Leader - ROAK is weekly service activities in the local Kansas City area. Join our student team as an adult leader and make an impact in the community while teaching the students to serve others. Projects vary from yard work and painting, to relational ministry to children and seniors. Responsibilities include supervising students as they serve and providing occasional transportation. Livewire Leader -Wednesday night activity (6:30–8 pm) includes worship, a speaker, games and breakout small groups. Students bring their unchurched friends as it aims to involve new faces. Adults participate in games alongside students, as well as lead small group discussions based on a simple set of thought-provoking questions. Contact Zion Student Ministries.

Sunday School Leader - Sunday mornings from 10:40 to noon. Students gather for donuts, coffee and announcements; then break out into small groups to discuss Christian lessons. Be a part of a teens' faith walk by leading a small group. Commitment is for the length of the school year. Serving God's Children

Nursery Care - Adults and mature high school students with experience in caring for toddlers and infants needed during Sunday services. Safe sanctuary training required. Contact Staci Allen.

Grandmother Brigade – Adults with experience caring for infants and small children are needed to provide childcare for weekday ministries or during special events. Must be physically able to lift small children. Safe sanctuary training required. Commitment 1-2 hrs/month. Contact Staci Allen.

Sunday School Leader (2 yrs to Kindergarten) - Adult or mature high school students, curriculum provided. Safe sanctuary training required. Contact Staci Allen.

LSE Mentor – Lee’s Summit Elementary, our partner school, is looking for mentors to help students with schoolwork. Contact Kelly Carleton at 816-986-3340.

Children's Information Booth Team - Facilitate the check-in of children attending Sunday School. Welcome new families, explain check-in process, walk them to the classrooms. Contact Stacy Guerrero.

Parent Helper - Welcomes children and their parents into the classroom, takes attendance, sign-up parents for special events, writes notes to first time visitors.  Contact Stacy Guerrero.

Sunday School Teachers (up to 6th grade) - Build relationships and encourage children to know, love and follow Jesus Christ. Actively participate in preparation and implementation of weekly activities and lessons. 2 hours weekly, 1-4 times a month. Contact Stacy Guerrero.  

Sunday School Shepherd - Serves as an assistant and second person in the classroom with the Sunday School teacher. 1 hour weekly, 1-4 times a month. Contact Stacy Guerrero.  

Children's Ministry Leadership Board - Consists of a variety of teams that contribute to the management of Christian Education events, projects and programming. Through this management, Board members and team leaders strive to provide meaningful opportunities for volunteers to grow in a community of faith through their involvement in Children's Ministries. Technical

Powerpoint and Video – Operate projection equipment during worship services. Training provided. Contact Lori Webster.

CD Duplication Team – Duplicate worship services on CD for homebound ministry. Contact Lori Webster.

Video and Graphic Production – Create video presentations to enhance the worship experience. Contact Lori Webster.

Creative

Worship Planning/Creative Team – Brainstorm ways to use creative arts in worship. Contact Lori Webster.

Drama Team – Develop your drama skills to serve Christ in a creative way. Contact Lori Webster

Behind-the-Scenes Team – Create costumes, stage set and prop design, script writing and more. Contact Lori Webster

Banner Ministry – Design and display thematic banners for worship. Contact Lori Webster.

Music

Chancel Choir – Worship God through song during traditional Sunday services. Contact Donna Douglas.

Honor & Praise – Join this contemporary women’s choir in sharing faith and fellowship. Contact Lori Webster.

Adult Hand Bells – Two hand bell choirs rotate on the first Sundays. Rehearsal on Wednesdays. Contact Susie VanHole at 524-6884.

Praise Band and Vocalists – Contemporary Christian music during Contemporary Worship. Contact Lori Webster

Praise Choir – If you are Jr. high age and older, offer praise in song once a month at Contemporary Worship. Contact Lori Webster. .

Accompanists – Help needed during special events and Sunday services, vocal or instrumental. Contact Lori Webster.  

Administrative

Mailing Team – Looking for great fellowship while doing a task that requires minimal concentration? Prepare bulk mail by stuffing, sealing and counting the second Wed. of each month. Contact Pat Gore.

Web Maintenance – Good with grammar? Keep the church website content up-to-date. Contact Carol Johnson.

Office Assistant – Assist office staff and answer phones a few hours during the week. Contact Lisa.

Event Photographer – Share your photography talent by taking pictures at various church events. Contact Carol Johnson.

Newsletter Ministry – Write articles for church newsletter as assigned. Contact Carol Johnson.

Supply Closet Coordinators - Helps organize, re-stock supplies and maintain organization of Children's Ministries supply closet. 1/2-1 hour weekly, 1-4 times a month. Contact Stacy Guerrero.

Bulletin Board Coordinator - Seeking creative adults to decorate Children's Ministries bulletin board on monthly/seasonal basis. Contact Staci Allen.

Guest Services

Ushers – Welcome guests, assist with seating, distribute bulletins and collect offering. Contact Rachel Andrisevic.

Information Desk – Answer phones and greet visitors as needed. Contact Rachel Andrisevic.

Set Up Crew for 9:15 Service - Set up chairs before service one Sunday a month. Contact Rachel Andrisevic.

Tear Down Crew for 10:40 Service - Stack and move chairs following service one Sunday a month from 10:45 to noon. Contact Rachel Andrisevic.

Missions & Outreach

Hurricane Relief – Join Volunteers In Mission (VIM) to rebuild, renovate and clean up damaged property. Contact Don Killion at 816-524-6097.
