Blessing Others With Your Gifts

“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing … Then all nations will count you happy, you will be a land of delight, say the LORD of hosts.”  -Malachi 3:10, 12

Giving is a just response for each of us as we acknowledge that all we have and are comes from God as a generous gift. By giving we recognize the generosity of God and emulate that same generosity as we support the missional efforts of our local community of faith.

God invites each of us to participate and to do so with love but also with a sense of expectation. Malachi proclaims that God is challenging each of us to put him to the test and to see the great blessings that will pour upon us due to our faithful giving. The wonder and mystery is this: God can bless the community around us, this nation, and the world beyond through our gifts and he multiplies them for his coming kingdom. But deeper than that, God promises to bless each of us! Why not put God to the test!
