More about Jim

David Hutchison, Associate Pastor
I am an Honors graduate of Central Methodist University with degrees in Religion and History, as well as classical training in vocal and instrumental music. I am currently working towards a Master of Divinity degree from Saint Paul School of Theology in KC. Growing up in an active United Methodist Church in the small town of Vienna, Missouri taught me to be passionate for outreach and service, leading me to be called into the ministry. I began pastoring churches while a Junior in undergraduate school, serving in Moberly, Fayette, New Franklin, Glasgow, Creighton, and Urich, Missouri before coming to Lee’s Summit. As an associate at LSUMC, I enjoy overseeing Adult Education, Missions, and Young Adult activities, as well as working with the traditional worship services. My wife Sarah and I are both avid musicians and can often be found singing, playing, listening to music, and watching Mizzou sports.

Mark Angleton, Pastor of Student Ministries
I am a graduate of Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, which makes me a proud Saluki.  And I am a 2009 graduate of Saint Paul School of Theology with my Master of Divinity.  I married my high school sweetheart, Christie.  I have been in ministry with young people since my senior year at SIU, and I feel blessed to be called to continue that ministry at LSUMC.  I love to help young people wrestle with what it means to be a Christian, and to watch them grow in understanding and maturity of the Christian life.  I love trying out new recipes, going to see a good movie, and reading a gripping novel.  Christie and I are raising a rambunctious puppy named Zephyr.  I love spending time with my cute little family, and my new Church family.

administration

Marilyn Fitzgerl, Church Administrator/Treasurer
Growing up in the Air Force didn’t allow for long-time church memberships and close relationships. That’s why my family’s involvement in LSUMC since 1984 is such a treasure to Ed and me. I cherish all of the friendships that have developed over the years and I am always anxious to create new ones. When I’m not at church, you can usually find me with a recipe book or a good mystery novel – or with our grandsons, third generations attending LSUMC. One of my favorite websites is foodnetwork.com. Yes, I’m a foodie! Email Marilyn

Lisa Stoddard, Executive Administrator
Being the mother of teenagers helps prepare you for many things in your life and I believe it has helped me in my ministry at LSUMC. Working in the office of a busy and growing church is much like motherhood;I juggle many different projects, people, calls and dilemmas at the same time and in a short amount of time. It's exciting, challenging, rewarding and never a dull moment. My husband and I have two children and we have lived in Lee's Summit for 10 years. We joined LSUMC in 1999 and I began working in the church office in 2001. I am a member of the Honor & Praise Choir and love being able to sing praises to God for all He has done for us. Email Lisa

Kathie Williams, Finance Specialist
I was born in Wisconsin and moved to Kansas City during my high school years. My first job, which lasted 25 years, was with a small insurance company where I was trained in accounting. After the company was sold, my husband Paul and I operated a coffee concession business in the historic Midland Theatre and at Bartle Hall Convention for eight years. Owning our own business was very enjoyable; meeting new people, trying new adventures and paying all kinds of taxes. I was raised Catholic and became a member of the Methodist Church after marrying my husband Paul. I find the Methodist Church to be an accepting environment which is truly a church of hope and second chances. Joing the staff allows me to enjoy the type of bookkeeping I like and flexible work schedule. I like to read, travel and take care of our granddaughter, Mallory. Email Kathie

worship

Lori Webster, Director of Worship Arts
A native of Nebraska and graduate of UNL, I can't help but be a Husker fan. And while I enjoy all sports, Worship is my real passion. To see God use the creative gifts of His people to share His message and worship Him, never ceases to amaze me. I relish in every aspect of the creative process and love the challenge and excitement of working with an incredible team to craft worship services that allow God many opportunities to connect with people. When not in a planning meeting, rehearsal or a worship service, I love to spend time with my husband, Kyle, and children, Zach, Spencer and Rylee. Email Lori

Larry Keisker, Director of Men's Choir
I am a native Missourian and Lee's Summit resident since 1978. Music and education have always been a part of my life, having also served as choir director at Blue Ridge Methodist, Blue Ridge Presbyterian, Platte Woods Methodist and Raytown Christian as well as LSUMC. I enjoy fishing, hunting, gardening and visiting grandchildren. Louise and I enjoy our friends and fellowship at church. Email Larry

Patty Grimm, Worship Coordinator
I was born and raised in Pratt, Kansas. I attended the University of Kansas where I met my husband, Steve. We lived in Los Angeles for 12 years where our son, Taylor, was born. We moved back to Kansas City in 1996 to be closer to our families. I enjoy hanging out at home with our dog and cat and continuously finding better ways to organize stuff around the house. I love to eat, entertain, watch movies, read, ride and jump horses, sing and shop for most everything, especially shoes! My favorite shopping website is Zappos.com for shoes and I love surfing and reading web blogs on the Internet. I enjoy seeing what's going on around the world through others eyes. Email Patty

Miranda Steffen, Worship Arts Coordinator
I am passionate about my family, my music, and God! I have been a Missouri resident my entire life, graduating from Grandview. My husband and I met in high school and fell in love on stage during our school’s production of "The Sound of Music" as he portrayed Captain Von Trapp and I, Maria. We furthered our music educations at Missouri State and moved back to begin our teaching endeavors. I taught four years in the public school system; two in the classroom, two in music. Now I am blessed to be here on staff. We are the proud parents of three beautiful daughters, Melody, McKenna and Mae. When I get a few minutes to spare, I love to spend time with my family, read, and catch up on my favorite shows. I am a true believer that we all have special talents that God has given us intended for His purpose.  I am forever in debt to my mother for encouraging my love of music. I am also very grateful to my two previous pastors, Steve Breon and Dustin Cooper, for laying so many paths for me when it came to my music and connection to God.  Email Miranda

Jim Kapelke, Worship Leader
I have been blessed to be in ministry for most of my life. I started playing with the Worship Band at my home church in Wisconsin when I was 15. I believe that lives are changed when we truly experience God in worship. It is my goal to continually find new and inventive ways to keep worship fresh and to use it to reach the community. When I’m not singing or playing guitar, I enjoy playing volleyball, working on computers, watching the Green Bay Packers and hanging with the family God has blessed me with. My wife, Trish, and I have been married for almost 16 years, we have 3 beautiful girls (Hope, Kylie, Halie) and a wonderful son (Josiah). My wife also serves in ministry as a Children’s Ministry Director. Our family loves to do as much together as we can even with the blessings and challenges that come with ministry. Email Jim

connections

Rachel Andrisevic, Director of Connections/Worship Support Coordinator/Fellowship and Life Groups
I was born and raised in Sedalia. I attended Longview Community College and received my B.A. at the University of Wyoming. I worked at The Ritz-Carlton in Kansas City where I met my husband, Keith. We are truly soul mates and married in October 1995. Keith is from Pittsburgh, Penn., where we lived for four years. We came back to Lee's Summit in June 2002. Our son, Truman, was stillborn in 2004. That is when I found my church family at LSUMC. The support and love shown to us was amazing. Through that experience, my passion for people has been fueled. It is my goal to make LSUMC a place where EVERYONE can go and experience Christ's love. I enjoy meeting and learning about people, and connecting them with others to build strong bonds. My prayer is that no one ever has to go through great sadness without knowing Christ's love and the support of His people. As recent Financial Peace University graduates, Keith and I have become passionate about our finances and spreading the good news of becoming better stewards of His resources. Email Rachel

Communications

Jill Teale, Director of Communications
God has blessed me with an incredible life! I have a wonderful family that I adore and love to spend time with – my husband Greg, and three boys Rece, Rylan and Reid. You can find us cheering on the Northwest Bearcats or Mizzou Tigers, playing at a park or if we can find the time…having fun on the water at the Lake of the Ozarks. I’ve come to realize that God has entrusted me with amazing gifts of creativity and I feel lucky to have the opportunity to utilize them in my church! Developing imagery and communications that will inspire people to explore, learn and participate in our church and the ministries available so that they may continue to grow in faith and come to know the love of Jesus Christ. christian education

Stacy Guerrero, Director of Children's Ministries
My husband and I fell in love with LSUMC the first time we visited and have been members since 1993. We became Sunday School teachers, settling into the 5th and 6th grade class and founding Club 56. I spent 15 years in federal law enforcement before becoming a member of the Children's Ministry staff. I believe God has used my life experience to lead me toward my true passion of ministering to children and their families. I enjoy reading all kinds of books, trying new foods and outdoor activities. I am a member of the Honor and Praise Choir and enjoy sharing the message of God's love with others. My husband and I travel to Mexico and enjoy the traditions and culture of that country. We share our home with two cats, a dog and all the chaos of raising an active young son.  Email Stacy

Staci Allen, Childcare and Children's Ministry Coordinator
My husband and I grew up in very small towns in north central Kansas, before moving to Oklahoma City for 10 years and eventually making our way to Missouri in 1996. I am a former Children's Day Out preschool teacher and college secretary. When I am not at church, you will find me at home spending time with our three daughters, two dogs, and one husband. I enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and bargain shopping. I love reading about Noah and the Ark and collecting Noah's Ark items. My favorite bible verse ... “Be still and know that I am God.” (Psalm 46:10) Email Staci

Mary Grigsby, Children's Ministry Assistant
My family and I first visited LSUMC in the fall of 2004. We knew right away that we were “home." It is very important to us that our children not only know God but also have a relationship with Him. We are blessed that our church home allows them to have that relationship and helps them to strengthen it and truly grow in Christ. In February of 2006, my husband and children were baptized and we joined LSUMC! My four children keep me on my toes and busy with their different schedules. My family and I enjoy spending time together and playing with our dogs. I have helped with Vacation Bible School as a leader and with setup for a couple of years. I have also been a Sunday school leader. I am so happy to be working here at LSUMC. God has been calling me here for a couple of years now. I finally stopped and listened to Him and I am so glad I did. Email Mary
