Pastor Lee Soxman


Lee F. Soxman, Jr. served Lee’s Summit United Methodist Church as senior pastor from 1977-87. He has served MO Conference United Methodist for sixty years.Born in K.C he followed in his father’s footsteps to become a Methodist Minister.  He received a B.A. Degree from William Jewell College, Liberty; a Masters Degree in Theology from Perkins School of Theology (S.M.U.), Dallas, TX. Before coming to Lee’s Summit, he served several United Methodist Churches including Joplin 1st, Cassville, Marshfield, Mount Washington, (Indep., Mo), Liberty, Grandview and as K.C. North District Superintendent.

In 1987 he was appointed as senior pastor of King's Way UMC, Springfield, MO. serving there until retirement in 1992. A move back to Lee's Summit in 1994 gave Lee an opportunity to once again serve LSUMC. He enjoys serving as Visitation Pastor, visiting members in thier homes, hospitals and extended care facilities. Sundays he teaches adult Renaissnace Sunday School Class and assists monthly at the 11a.m worship service. Lee also serves with the United Mehtodist Men; he presides at weddings, funerals and maintains a vital interest in all areas of minitstry at LSUMC and the Heartland South District. He is married to Bev and they share six grown children, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
